Lagarde d'Apt is the highest village in Vaucluse, its Mont St.Pierre culminating at 1256m. Lavender as well as cereal fields and sheepfarming leaves a mark to the mountain landscape with a predominating and outstanding beech tree forest. The rough climate gives reason to the rare sight of houses.

A beautiful house of the 17th century supposedly having been the residence of a lord representing the Count of Sault and the 18th century church of St.Pierre, right next to the townhall form this mountain hamlet.
 

• To be seen :
  An exceptional panorama at the chapel Notre-Dame de l'Amaron of the year 1000, whereof the biggest part of the nave was rebuilt in 1667 and extended by a porch in the 18th century.This chapel, anew restored in 2004, is a pilgrimage place (demand of protection against bad weather for the crop) which in former times was very busy.
  

• To visit :
  The two former missile launching zones, now remediated :
  The observatory Sirene is open to public around the year. Here you can discover the vault of stars with help of telescopes.
  The 'Bistrot de Lagarde' is a place of reception, information and a restaurant. A continuous outside exposition tells the history of the village.
