Lagarde
d'Apt is the highest village in Vaucluse, its Mont St.Pierre culminating
at 1256m. Lavender as well as cereal fields and sheepfarming leaves
a mark to the mountain landscape with a predominating and outstanding
beech
tree forest. The rough climate gives reason to the rare sight of
houses.
A
beautiful house of the 17th century supposedly having been the residence
of a lord representing the Count of Sault and the 18th century church
of St.Pierre, right next to the townhall form this mountain hamlet.
